Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Botanical Garden! CINCINNATI – (March 31, 2017) On April 12, 1987, the Cincinnati Zoological Garden officially changed its name to the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden to give equal emphasis to the animals and plants that are part of the Zoo’s landscape. The garden has grown over the years and now includes a spring display of more than 110,000 tulips! The tulips are starting to bloom in the #ZooGarden and the next couple of weeks will be a prime opportunity for garden enthusiasts to visit. As one of only two accredited botanical gardens in Ohio, the Cincinnati Zoo offers one of the largest and most colorful tulip displays in the Midwest. Zoo Blooms, presented by Macy’s, also features more than one million daffodils, hyacinths, flowering trees, shrubs and other spring bulbs. To accompany the first blooms of the year, the Cincinnati Zoo will feature FREE concerts every Thursday evening during Zoo Blooms from 6 – 8:30 p.m. Admission is free after 5 p.m. (Parking not included). The Tunes & Blooms concert series, presented by Macy’s, features a variety of Cincinnati’s finest and most-respected music veterans playing together in the Zoo’s beautiful gardens.
