Visit Fiona and Winsol, the aadorable aardvark, during Zoo Babies

CINCINNATI (May 1, 2018) –  Get ready to say “aww” during Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s 33rd annual Zoo Babies celebration, presented by First Financial Bank.  Throughout May, six-foot-tall stork signs will mark the spots where babies, including baby hippo Fiona, can be found at the Zoo.

“Baby animals are great ambassadors for their species,” said Thane Maynard, Cincinnati Zoo Director. “Fiona has inspired people all over the globe to care about hippos and their native habitat in Africa.  Many critically endangered species share that habitat, so increased awareness about the importance of protecting their home helps them all.”

Some of the Zoo Babies that visitors will see this May, including Kendi the eastern black rhino, and Elle the western lowland gorilla, represent species that are critically endangered. Baby manatees, Matthew, Miles, Pippen, and Daphne, are at the Cincinnati Zoo to be rehabilitated until they can be returned to Florida to be released.  Click here for a complete list of Zoo Babies.

Bring the special women in your life to see the babies on Mother’s Day! Moms get free admission on Sunday, May 13, courtesy of TriHealth.

Zoo Babies, presented by First Financial Bank, starts today and runs through May 31!  The event is FREE with regular Zoo admission. The Zoo opens daily at 10 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m.  Cincinnati Zoo members enjoy early entry at 9 a.m.  For more information visit www.cincinnatizoo.org.
