Least Auklet

Aethia pusilla

Though it is the smallest of auklets, the least auklet eats more than 80% of its body weight each day. Like other auklets, it dives for tightly clumped zooplankton. Both parents feed a nestling until it fledges. As soon as it leaves the nest, a young auklet dives to hunt on its own.
