Scarlet-chested Parrot

Neophema splendida

A type of small grass parrot, the scarlet-chested parrot spends most of its time foraging on the ground for seeds. Holding down a grass stalk with one foot, it uses its sharp beak to pluck off the seeds. When water is scarce, the parrot chews on succulent plants.
