CINCINNATI, OH (May 2, 2014) – The Cincinnati Zoo’s four-day-old female giraffe now has a name.   After receiving more than 7,000 name suggestions via Facebook and Twitter, the Zoo’s giraffe keepers selected their top four names and left the final decision to the public.  More than 3,700 people selected their favorite name among the four finalists, “Nasha,” “Amaya,” “Akila,” and “Alia.”  Gaining nearly 32% of the votes, “Nasha”…

OH (April 5, 2011) – It’s a GIRL!  The baby giraffe, born Saturday, April 2 at the Cincinnati Zoo is a girl!  Now, she needs a name.  Name suggestions will be accepted on the Zoo’s Facebook page through this Friday, April 8, at which time the Zoo’s giraffe keepers will pick their favorites.

CINCINNATI, OH (April 2, 2011) – Tessa, the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s four-year-old Maasai giraffe gave birth to her first calf this morning, April 2 at 9:40 a.m. in her indoor stall.
