THE ZOO GOURMET Back by popular demand! Food is a huge part of celebrating holidays. At the Zoo, our animals feast year-round on carefully planned diets. Join us for a holiday food frenzy and learn how we feed thousands of animals every day. Through a game, close encounters, and a behind the scenes tour of the Zoo’s commissary, find out why different animals eat different
foods and how the Zoo manages its menus. Register Online

MANY, MANY MOONS AGO Join us for an afternoon of traditional tales charismatically presented by
local Native American storyteller, Fred Shaw. The entire family will enjoy
stories of the animals that live around us such as opossums, turtles, and
hawks and visits from several Zoo animals. Register Online

Family Sing- Along

These programs are for families with children 5 years and younger. Taught by Amanda O'Bannon of Miss Amanda's Music Garden, programs involve singing, dancing, and dramatic play that is sure to get the whole family movin' and groovin' and live animal demonstrations that tie into theme of the programs. (Up to two adults and siblings under 1 year or age accompanying participants are free.)

Cost: $13 for child #1 (1-5 years old)- $11 for child #2 (1-5 years old)

FALLING LEAVES

Leaves and snowflakes are falling, animals are making winter nests,
and the Earth is getting ready for a long winter nap. We’ll use music
and movement to move and sing like the plants and the animals
getting ready for winter! We’ll even get to meet some animal friends
in the classroom. Register Online

Family Night Hikes

Would you like to prowl the zoo after hours when the crowds have gone home? Well, come on down for these fun-filled, family oriented evening adventures at the Zoo!

CREEPY CRAWLIES Things that go bump - or hiss - in the night! From creatures with eight legs to those with no legs, there sure are some wild, hair-raising animals here at the Zoo! We’ll hike around the Zoo and get up close and personal with some of the Zoo’s very own education animals while we learn about what makes these creepy crawlies so unique! Register Online Oct. 9, 16, 23, or 30: 6-7:30pm

Family Overnights at the Zoo

Join the Zoo's overnight program, Nocturnal Adventures, for special events designed for parents and children, ages 5 and up. Pitch your tent and camp out at the Zoo, sleep with manatees circling your feed, or sleep outside a tropical rainforest!
