These programs are designed to meet the needs of 4-5 year olds as they continue to discover the excitement and wonder of animals. Visits from animal friends, hikes in the Zoo, and crafts make this learning experience a time to remember. Register Online

Who can participate?
  • Children 4-5 years old.
  • Adults are always welcome but need not accompany the child. (No Charge for adults.)
When are 4-5 year old programs available?
  • Year round. See below for dates and topics.
How much are 4-5 year old programs?
  • Sign up for individual classes, or for the entire series and save!
  • Cost per Class: $11/ Member - $15/ Non-Member
  • Cost per Series: $27/ Member - $39/ Non-Member
Where do 4-5 year old programs take place?
  • Most occur in the Harold C. Schott Education Center. Confirmation materials will be received once you have registered.

The Eyes Have It Discover what it’s like to see eye to eye with animals. We’ll find out why some animals have round, slit-like, or even rectangular pupils and then get a chance to see some eyes up close when we meet some animals in the classroom. Register Online

P is for Penguin Are you feeling “penguin-y”? Dive in for an exciting look at penguins, as we discover that not all penguins like the cold! After a hike to see our penguins and some fun games, we’ll make a “penguin-y” craft that you can take home. Register Online

What Do Animals Wear Do snakes wear shoes? Do penguins wear pants? Find out what animals should and should not wear through a humorous story, Zoo hike, and a visit with some live animals in the classroom. Register Online

Animal Giants Growing up giant-sized is hard work! From elephants to polar bears, finding enough food and space can be a challenge! Discover what it takes to be a giant as we meet some giant animal friends in the classroom, then search the Zoo for other giants! Register Online

Reptile Romp If you’re interested in scaly ectotherms – do we have a program for you! With the help of some reptilian friends, discover the similarities and differences between snakes, alligators, turtles, and lizards. From boas to snapping turtles, come find out why reptiles have what it takes to survive! Register Online
