Family Sunset Safari: Goodnight Zoo

The day is ending! It is time for many Zoo animals to start getting ready for bed and for others to start waking up! Join us as we say, “Goodnight,” to some daytime animals and as we greet others starting the night shift. You and your family will encounter animals in their habitats, in private encounters, and roaming the Zoo (even some wild, native animals choose to make the Zoo their home!)!

FAQ – After Hours Programs

Are masks required during the program? (updated 9/1/21)

All attendees and staff are required to wear masks while indoors and during human-animal interactions like animal encounters. There are currently no exceptions to this policy. It is our priority to keep all attendees, animals and staff safe. Live animal encounters allow attendees to be up close and personal with a variety of animals, including mammals that may be susceptible to the disease. Please note protocols may be different for other programs and events due to the nature of the programs. (updated 9/1/21)

What other COVID guidelines are in place?

The Cincinnati Zoo staff will be cleaning shared spaces (like bathrooms) with approved COVID-19 cleaning supplies, following CDC guidelines. Staff and attendees will utilize hand washing or hand sanitizer throughout the program.

Will I be grouped with other attendees?

For Sunset Safaris: Yes, Zoo Educators will lead groups of about 10. You and your registration group may be placed with other attendees.

For Cart Tours: No, your group will have a private cart tour with a Zoo Educator. No other groups will join you.

What should I bring with for the program?

Attendees should wear comfortable, closed toed shoes and dress for the weather. Pack a mask for indoor locations. A water bottle is recommended; we have water refill stations and our water fountains are currently turned off to help prevent the spread of disease.

What if I have specific food allergies or limitations?

For Adult Sunset Safaris: Our team is dedicated to keeping you safe and providing you with a delicious meal. When you register for an Adult Sunset Safari, there is a place to put in any food allergies or limitations. If you have questions regarding your limitations or have severe allergies, please contact us at [email protected]

What is your cancellation policy?

For Sunset Safaris: Programs happen rain or shine. If the Zoo has to cancel your program for any reason, you will be contacted and receive a full refund. If you want to cancel your registration, please contact us prior to the program. You will receive a class credit that can be used on any future education programming.

For Cart Tours: Due to the nature of this private experience, you may choose to move your tour to a different date within 48 hours of your scheduled tour. If you choose to cancel your tour, you will receive a class credit that can be used on any future education programming.

I have a gift certificate/class credit. How do I use it?

Gift certificates and class credits are great because they never expire and can be used for any of our education programs. To use your credit, you will need the order number and certificate number. Go through your registration as normal. When you get to the final payment screen, just above where you enter your credit card information, check the box that asks if you’d like to use a gift certificate. Check the box, and enter your certificate/credit information.

Up to 3 certificate/credits can be used per order. If your credit is for less than the total balance, you will then enter your credit card information. If your credit has a remaining balance, that balance will remain on that same certificate/credit and can be used at any time- remember, they never expire!

Received a credit, but can’t find your email? Contact us at [email protected].
