Celebrate students and learning at the Zoo during the new School Days! Multi-curricular activities will reinforce Tri-State academic standards while students enjoy a great day at the Zoo. Science, math, language and creative arts and more come together to help students explore wildlife and conservation in ways that are relevant, from preschool through high school.
Create your own experience by selecting from self-guided projects, joining featured group activities and attending special animal encounters. Come and see how learning at the Zoo is cool!

- Monday - Friday throughout March, April, September & October
How much is the event?
- FREE with School Admission
- School Admission: $5.00 per adult and student; one free teacher/ chaperon admission for every 10 students registered. Bus parking is free; $8.00 parking for private vehicles.
- Make your reservation at least 2 weeks in advance.
How does it work?
The event is designed buffet-style - pick and choose whatever interests you from the many available options. No need to sign up for each activity - event registration gives your group an all access pass to any activity listed below.
School Days activities are free unless otherwise noted:
- Facilitated Activities: short, lively, small-group activities led by Zoo educators.
- Self-Guided Activities: worksheets that you can print for your students and bring to the Zoo.
- Cultural Presentations: Native American interpretations and songs about wildlife.
- Animal Encounters: see exotic animals in action; be wowed by their adaptations!
- 4D Theater: awesome, wildlife-themed movies (~15 minutes) engage the senses with 3D visual as well as movement, wind, water and much more! $3 per student. Currently featuring Planet Earth's Ice Worlds.

Sample Activities
A full schedule of offerings is available upon registration. Below is just a taste of some of the activities available during School Days.
Self-Guided Samples:
Conservation Commercial, 9-12th grade
Facilitated Samples:
Primate Hands - Use inquiry to discover if primates are left or right handed.
Bird Migration Game - Students (as migrating birds) move through a gameboard riddled with challenges that demonstrate the adventures of bird migration.
Animal Coverings - Discover how fur, hair, feathers and skin look up-close and how they help animals survive. A
high-powered microscope lets students explore even deeper!
Magnetic Story - Students express their creativity by practicing proper use and identification of nouns, verbs,
adjectives, etc. during this magnetic poetry/MadLib-style activity.
