September 6 & 7, 2014
10am - 4pm
Join the Zoo in celebrating and conserving wildlife during the Act Wild for Apes weekend. Apes are our closest living relatives, sharing characteristics such as large brains, opposable thumbs and living in family groups. In spite of their similarities to humans, apes are facing an uncertain future in the wild. Habitat loss and poaching are threatening their survival.
Act Wild for Apes invites visitors to learn about bonobos, gibbons, gorillas and orangutans through family activities, crafts, discover stations and animal encounters.
