An old flip phone, a used smartphone, or even a broken iPod would make the perfect gift for this little gorilla. Not to use – she is a gorilla after all – but to recycle! Recycling cell phones saves gorilla habitat, so the Cincinnati Zoo is collecting as many as possible. You can help by getting your child’s school or youth group involved in the Go Bananas! Challenge  – a contest to collect the most phones. There’s even a $5K prize.

This is the third year that Cincinnati Zoo’s Project Saving Species has partnered with The Gorilla Glue Company to present the Go Bananas! Challenge. Our collection goal for 2013-2014 is 25,000 phones. We need 11,000 more phones to reach that goal. Please get your group involved in this worthy cause. Sign up today!
