Pave the Way for Cincinnati Zoo’s Roo Valley Posted September 30, 2019Leave a legacy and support the Zoo when you purchase a paver! CINCINNATI (September 30, 2019) – The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is inviting you to be part of the foundation of Roo Valley, set to open spring of 2020, by purchasing a personalized paver that will be placed on the walkway leading to the new home of little blue penguins, kangaroos, and an adventure ropes course! “We opened up paver sales to our donors and members last week so they would have the first opportunity to leave their mark on this special place,” said Cincinnati Zoo Director Thane Maynard. “Our goal is to sell 1,000 bricks, and more than 300 have already been purchased during the member pre-sale!” The pavers, which are $295 apiece, can be inscribed with family names, company names, messages, remembrances, etc… Each 4.5 x 9-inch brick allows up to three lines of text, with 15 characters per line, which will be sandblasted to achieve the highest quality engraving (see paver video). Replicas of the bricks are available for $50 each and can be picked up at the Zoo December 17-20. Paver sales close on November 11. Funds raised from paver sales will go to the Zoo’s More Home to Roam capital campaign and be used to build better homes for animals and a better Zoo for all visitors. The campaign launched last summer and, thanks to a generous challenge gift from Harry and Linda Fath, has already paid for a new entry, an expanded elephant yard, repairs to the iconic Elephant House, additional ticketing windows, and habitat upgrades. Roo Valley will be next! Visit cincinnatizoo.org/pave-the-way to learn more or purchase a paver.
