CINCINNATI, OH (March 27, 2019) –  The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s most famous resident has been voted the #1 Cincinnatian for the third year in a row in CityBeat’s 2020 Best of Cincinnati© Reader’s Poll! The Zoo also brought home top honors for its Instagram account, another three-peat, and multiple other categories including BEST PLACE TO TAKE A VISITOR, BEST HOLIDAY LIGHTS, and BEST FRIEND TO THE ENVIRONMENT.

“We want to thank everyone who voted for the Cincinnati Zoo and look forward to the day when we can reopen and give people the opportunity to enjoy all we have to offer,” said Cincinnati Zoo Director Thane Maynard.  “In the meantime, we’re doing our best to keep Cincinnatians connected to the Zoo and their favorite animals with virtual experiences.  Be sure to check us out on Instagram and Facebook.”

The Zoo has been closed since March 15.  To fill that void, it has been offering Home Safari Facebook Lives daily at 3pm.  These virtual visits include up close encounters with animals and an activity related to the featured animal to do at home after the program. The videos and activities are also posted on the Zoo’s website.
