We hope the information below helps you plan your next visit. Visiting the Zoo in the colder months is a great way to spend an afternoon!
Is the Zoo open in the winter and what are the hours?
The Zoo is open every day of the year except Christmas Day. Our hours are 10am-5pm daily except during the PNC Festival of Lights when are open until 9pm weekdays & 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Are there animals that won't be on exhibit due to the cold weather?
Most of the animals at the Cincinnati Zoo can tolerate cold weather, or have indoor viewing access when the temperatures begin to drop.
A few are not able to acclimate to the cold temperatures so when the temperature is too cold for them to enjoy their outdoor exhibit, they stay indoors in their warm, off-exhibit space.
The following primates are off exhibit during the colder months:
Ring-tailed Lemurs of Lemur Lookout
Ruffed Lemurs of Jungle Trails
Mueller's Gibbons of Jungle Trails
Angolan Colobus of Jungle Trails
Colobus Monkeys of Gorilla World
Mammals with weather restrictions:
All Rhino - species mid 40's and dry
Okapi - mid 40's and dry
Bongo - mid 40's and dry
Zebra - mid 40's and dry
