WELCOME WINTER!Cool wind, swirling snowflakes, waving branches, fluffy animals,
there are so many fun textures and sights in the winter. We’ll make
use of our winter wiggles with dramatic play and fun activities, becoming
snowflakes, bunnies, trees, and the wind. Animal visitors will
also join us to help us experience the look and feel of winter as we
celebrate the season.

survive in the snow and ice. We’ll meet some animal friends in the
classroom and then hike in the Zoo to visit some of our animals who

home and share what we learned.

POLE-TO-POLEBrrr…it’s cold out there! So, how come some animals seem right at
home in the snow? We’ll learn about the special adaptations that
allow certain animals to make it through the winter with some animal
visitors, a Zoo hike, and a chance to test our skills mimicking the
behaviors of some cold-tolerant critters.

LET’S PLAYWhen the winter weather makes you stay inside, how do you avoid
cabin fever? Enrichment of course! Come and learn about what it
takes to keep our Zoo animals’ minds and bodies busy when they
cannot stay outside all day. Then, help create some enrichment
items to brighten the day of some special Zoo residents.

HIP HIPPO HURRAY!
The world has caught Fiona fever, but she is more than just a pretty
face! Come and learn about the conservation and care that goes
into being a keeper for Fiona and her family with a guided tour led
by a hippo caregiver. We’ll learn the ins and outs of their building
and their personalities from the experts and even get a sneak peek
at their behind the scenes holding area!
