Cincinnati Zoo’s “The Fiona Show” Debuts Next Week on Facebook’s Watch

CINCINNATI (August 25, 2017) – World-famous baby hippo Fiona is about to become an even bigger celebrity when episode one of “The Fiona Show” hits the small screen on Tuesday, August 29, 2017.  The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s documentary-style show on Facebook’s new Watch platform.

“We are excited to work with Facebook as they launch Watch,” said Amy Labarbara, Cincinnati Zoo’s Marketing Coordinator and Co-Producer of The Fiona Show. “We’ve been posting daily Fiona updates on Facebook since she was born seven months ago.  The episodic show format has given us an opportunity to dig deeper into the story of her premature birth and fight to survive.”

The first episode of “The Fiona Show” includes interviews with the coach of #TeamFiona, who was on the scene minutes after Fiona was born, six weeks before she was due.  Viewers will also get to see previously-unreleasedvideo of Fiona’s actual birth and witness the care team springing into action to help the struggling little calf. Each episode of the Show will detail key moments of Fiona’s journey to becoming a healthy, healthy hippo.

Follow “The Fiona Show” to get new episodes in your Watchlist. The Zoo will post a new episode every Tuesday after the August 29 premiere.  Facebook introduced Watch, a new platform for shows on Facebook earlier this month to a small group of people in the US and the platform is rolling out more broadly in the coming weeks. Watch will be available on mobile, on desktop and laptop, and in the Facebook TV app, add “The Fiona Show” to your Watchlist so you never miss out on the latest episodes!
