Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden offers virtual horticulture classes

CINCINNATI, OH (January 13, 2021) – Beat winter’s chill by preparing for your spring garden! Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is offering two virtual series that will get homeowners and gardening enthusiasts excited to get digging.

Landscaping for the Homeowner Series

“This is a great time to embrace gardening!  Experienced gardeners and new homeowners will find our Landscaping for the Homeowner Series extremely useful,” said Steve Foltz, Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s director of horticulture.  “It covers design, plant and tree selection, adding color, and tips for keeping it all looking good!”

The first of five two-hour sessions is on February 3.   Take the whole series or sign up for individual classes. Makes an excellent gift!

Best Plant Trials Expo

The best performing plants in the Zoo’s 2020 plant trialing program will be discussed during the five-part Best Plant Trials Expo. The sessions, led by Steve Foltz and the Zoo’s horticulture team, will be packed with information of interest to green industry professionals and gardeners.  Annuals, perennials, woody plants, pollinator plants, and native plants will be covered in the series.  Choose individual programs or the entire series.
