CINCINNATI, OH (March 28, 2023) – The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s spring season is in full swing as flowers open, animals emerge, and encounters resume.  Visitors will see thousands of tulips of all colors and varieties when the botanical garden takes a front seat during Zoo Blooms, sponsored by Pepsi.

“The Zoo really comes alive this time of year,” said Cincinnati Zoo director Thane Maynard.  “Families visit for spring break, kids are here for camps, more animals are out, and the trees and flowers look spectacular.  It’s also when we host our free evening concert series, Tunes & Blooms, which gives people an opportunity to enjoy live music with a backdrop of tulips and an occasional roar in the distance!”

The music starts at 6 p.m. every Thursday night in April in the Zoo’s Vine Street Village (free entry starts at 5 p.m.). This year’s lineup includes The Harmed Brothers, Kiely Connell, Carriers, and Moonshine Drive. If you want to get familiar with artists before you come, check out this Tunes & Blooms 2023 Spotify playlist.

This weekend marks the beginning of the popular Barnyard Bonanza presented by Grippos and Cheetah Encounter wildlife demonstrations presented by Kroger!  Make sure to stop by and feed a giraffe during the Chick-fil-A giraffe feeding. Also this weekend, Discover Crystal River Florida (DCRF) is hosting its Step Into Awareness augmented reality (AR) experience at the Zoo. Guests can use their phones to scan a QR code and be transported underwater where they can see manatees and their habitat. Guests taking part in the manatee AR experience will also have the chance to win DCRF swag and a two-day trip to Crystal River, which includes accommodations at Plantation on Crystal River and a manatee snorkeling tour.
