City of Cincinnati Campaign Challenge:

Register 30,000 to reduce 300,000 tons of carbon emissions

The City of Cincinnati Office of Environmental Quality (OEQ) launched a new campaign at a press conference here at the Zoo on 10/27.  The “What’s Your Green Umbrella?” campaign is a multimedia effort to save energy, save money and help the environment. 

Through an interactive website that calculates what you save with each ‘green’ action you register, OEQ and Green Umbrella are working together to engage more people, to do more things that will help the environment, for all the world to see.  The goal is to register 30,000 regional households who will log more than 300,000 tons of reduced carbon emissions.

Citizens can register free of charge at www.greenumbrella.org to become part of the campaign.  Once registered, you can join the Cincinnati Zoo’s Group and our actions will be tracked so we can collectively see the big impact we are having. By registering, you will be entered to win numerous prizes, including $25 gift certificates to Home Depot, a one year membership to the Cincinnati Nature Center, and even a lifetime membership to the Cincinnati Zoo.
