Zoofari 2022 Celebrates Cincinnati Zoo Director Thane Maynard’s 45th Anniversary
Evening in the Everglades theme a nod to Maynard’s Florida roots
CINCINNATI, OH (August 19, 2022) — Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s premiere party with a purpose is right around the corner, and tickets are almost gone! Zoofari 2022 – Evening in the Everglades is the place to be on September 23.
“This is Zoo Director Thane Maynard’s 45th year at the Zoo, and it seemed fitting to celebrate the occasion with people who support the place that has been his home for so long,” said Reba Dysart, Vice President of Development at the Cincinnati Zoo. “The theme was chosen as a nod to Maynard’s other longtime home, the Florida everglades.”
Zoofari raises much-needed support for the care and feeding of almost 400 animal and 3,000 plant species, groundbreaking conservation efforts, and educational outreach programs. Nearly 2,000 people attend each year to enjoy dinner-by-the-bite samples from local restaurants, creative cocktails, and entertainment while wandering through themed sections of the Zoo. Comfortable shoes will be important for more than just dancing.
This year, Zoofari guests will have the chance to win a one-of-a-kind diamond pendant featuring the princess of the Queen City, Fiona! Designed by Genesis Diamonds, the Official Jeweler of Zoofari, this white gold & diamond pendant features Fiona on a blue enamel background and an 18” chain. Zoofari guests can purchase one raffle ticket for $25 or four raffle tickets for $100 and receive a $100 Genesis Diamonds gift certificate in return.
