Roo Valley Roo Valley At the Australian-themed Roo Valley, beneath a lush canopy of trees, Zoo guests experience and encounter two native Australian species like never before. Masks are required in Roo Valley. Kangaroo Walkabout In the 15,000-square-foot Kangaroo Walkabout, guests roam among the ‘roos as they hop about, play, and graze. Little Blue Penguins Little blue penguins, another native Australian species, have an innovatively designed new home as well. The Cincinnati Zoo is home to North America’s largest colony of little blue penguins, and their numbers are increasingly threatened in the wild. Their habitat includes more rocky surfaces and incorporates technology to optimize swimming time, which is beneficial for penguin foot health. Hops Visitors can relax and view Roo Valley from “Hops”, a multi-tiered beer garden. Hops features local breweries from Fifty West, High Grain, MadTree and Braxton. In addition to the great selection of local craft beers, Heidelberg Distributing will offer a national rotating tap with Goose Island (Chicago, IL), Breckenridge (Breckenridge, CO), Elysian (Seattle, Washington) and Golden Road (Los Angeles, CA). Sustainability is important. Hops is going for a 4-star rating from the Green Restaurant Association for Hops. Food operation will be disposable free, with real silverware and plates instead of single-use plastics. We grow our own herbs, and source produce, cheeses and meats locally. Kanga’ Klimb A two-level, ADA-accessible ropes course with 50 activities will add even more adventure when it opens in Summer of 2021.
