Wild About Wine un-corks in 2015 on Wednesday, April 22, Thursday, June 11 and Thursday, September 3. Each tasting takes place in different locations throughout the Zoo. Guests will enjoy unique wine sampling, food-by-the-bite from local restaurants, live music, up-close animal encounters and more.
A Toast to the Wild series tickets will go on February 17, 2015 at 10:00 am.
Individual tickets for Wild about Wine go on sale March 11, 2015 for the April 22 Wild about Wine event, April 30 for the June 11 Wild about Wine event and July 23 for the September 3 Wild about Wine event.
Proceeds from the “A Toast to the Wild” event series support the Zoo’s own Lindner Center for the Conservation and Research of Endangered Wildlife (CREW).
All guests must have a ticket and be 21 or older to attend our Toast to the Wild events. Guests with infants and/or small children will not be permitted to enter the gates under any circumstances.
If I have a question about the event, who can I contact? For questions about the event you can send an email to: email@example.com.
What does my ticket include?
Included in your ticket is admission to the event, parking in the Zoo’s Vine Street lot, featured beverage sampling, light fare donated by local restaurants, live music and up-close animal encounters.
How much of my ticket purchase supports CREW?
$30 of every ticket goes directly to support CREW’s research both here and abroad. In 2014, we raised over $150,000 to support CREW’s research.
Where do I park?
Please park in the Zoo’s main parking lot at 3400 Vine Street. You can find directions and additional parking details at: Directions and Parking Just look for the solar panels!
What if I don’t receive my ticket/confirmation email? Your confirmation email will have an attached PDF which holds your ticket. Print out a copy of the attachment/ticket and bring it with you the evening of the event. If you did not receive an email, check your SPAM folder as well as your Trash folder. If those turn up blank, please call or email Jarrid Vaughn at 513-487-3330 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
With my Toast to the Wild ticket, am I able to come earlier in the day and enjoy the Zoo until the event starts? Unfortunately your Toast to the Wild ticket only gives you admittance into the Zoo beginning at 6:15pm on the scheduled event date. Please visit the ticketing page on our website to learn more about planning your visit to the Zoo.
Is there food at the event?
Light fare is provided through the generous donation of local restaurants. You will find a variety of food samples throughout the event.
Is the whole Zoo open during the event?
Each event features a different section of the Zoo and only that portion is open during the event.
Will you have nonalcoholic beverages available?
Yes, there will be stations serving both Pepsi products and water during the event.
Will there be vegetarian food options?
Our food samplings vary based on the restaurants who have donated to the event, so we may not always have vegetarian options available.
Will the event be held if there is inclement weather?
Yes, the events are held rain or shine – please make sure you dress comfortably for the weather.
Will this event be inside or outdoors?
Both! Toast to the Wild events utilize both indoor and outdoor exhibits throughout the Zoo.
Where can I learn more about supporting CREW?
The Center for Conservation and Research of Endangered Wildlife (CREW) was the first of its kind, state-of-the-art research facility dedicated to saving endangered plants and animals from extinction. CREW is internationally recognized for their research with many projects including work with rhinos, small cats, endangered plants and most recently, the polar bear. The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is one of three Zoos in the United States to have a facility dedicated to conservation and research. You can read more about CREW at: Crew Homepage.
Can I bring my children to the event?
Toast to the Wild events are for adults as they feature alcoholic beverages – you must be at least 21 years old to attend.
Do these events sell-out?
Yes! All five of the events sold out in 2014, so please plan ahead and reserve your spot now!
If the event sells out, will there be tickets available at the door?
Once we have reached capacity via pre-purchased ticket sales, we are unable to sell any additional tickets at the door. We highly recommend you pre-purchase your tickets here: Purchase Tickets
What do I wear?
Please dress comfortably for a fun evening at the Zoo – remember the events are rain/shine and feature both indoor and outdoor exhibits throughout the Zoo.
I am a Zoo member, can I purchase discounted tickets?
Since this is a fundraiser for CREW, there is one event ticket price.
Can I get a tax deduction for my ticket purchase?
$15 of each ticket is tax deductible. You can find this information on your receipt.
Thank you for your interest in supporting “A Toast To The Wild – Tasting Series” presented by Key Bank. These events benefit the Lindner Center for Conservation and Research of Endangered Wildlife (CREW) at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden. CREW is internationally recognized for their signature research involving rhinos, small cats, endangered plants and polar bears. The Cincinnati Zoo &Botanical Garden is one of three Zoos in the United States to have a facility dedicated to conservation and research.
The series is comprised of five sampling events – Zootini, Wild About Wine (three events) and Zoo Brew. In 2014, over 4,000 people attended these events to raise over $150,000 to benefit CREW. All five events sold out very quickly. Thankfully, we have been given the opportunity to sell more tickets for all events this year! We look forward to continuing this success with our events in 2015.
