This 13-day safari with Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden makes vision a reality in Tanzania’s most celebrated parks for spectacular wildlife viewing. Set out in Arusha, Tarangire, and Ngorongoro for daily wildlife-viewing drives in open-top safari vehicles, then cap off the experience with three days on the Serengeti to witness the world-famous Great Migration. Return each day to memorable accommodations nestled amid idyllic African beauty, from the rim of Ngorongoro Crater to luxury tented camps perfectly positioned to access migration paths.

Come join the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden trip to Churchill, Manitoba: the polar bear capital of the world! If you’ve been hoping to see polar bears in the wild, this is the place to do it. In Oct/Nov of each year, bears congregate on the shores of the Hudson Bay waiting for sea ice to form, providing up-close viewing opportunities. We will be visiting during peak bear viewing week!
Highlights include:
- Three (3) days on the Tundra Buggy, the Arctic equivalent of a safari game drive. We can expect to see polar bears, arctic foxes, arctic hare, dozens of unique bird species, including the ptarmigan, and impressive landscapes and ice formations on the bay.
- Three (3) nights on the Tundra Buggy Lodge, which provides unique accommodations situated directly on the tundra and where we’ll have chances to see polar bears right outside our windows.
- Possible Aurora borealis sighting.
- Visits to Churchill Northern Studies Centre and Polar Bears International House.
- A dog-sledding experience.
- A visit to Assiniboine Park Zoo and Conservancy in Winnipeg, a world-class polar bear facility that currently houses ~12 bears that came in as orphaned cubs.
- Optional helicopter ride showing the vast expanse of ice that these bears are heading towards.
- Tours of the Churchill area to learn about its famous sites, including Polar Bear Jail and Miss Piggy Plane Wreck.
