The Botanical Garden is spread throughout Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s 75-acre campus and consists of over 3000 accessions, including everything from groundcovers to tall trees.
Cincinnati Zoo’s Center for Conservation and Research of Endangered Wildlife (CREW) is globally respected for its conservation work with endangered plant species. Much of this effort is accomplished through the cryogenic preservation of seeds and other plant tissue.
Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is home to the world’s only arboretum within a Zoo to achieve the highest level of recognition awarded by The ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program and The Morton Arboretum.
It is also recognized an Accredited Botanical Garden by Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI).
