Bid on unique Cincinnati Zoo animal art now – May 16

CINCINNATI, OH (May 11, 2022) – Take home some wild art from the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden! Bid now-May 16 on unique works of art will delight the recipient and also raise funds for the Zoo!

“Female Asian elephant Mai Thai has been painting for years and uses a brush to create her masterpieces,” said Cincinnati Zoo marketing manager Amy LaBarbara.  “Some of the other animal artists create using snouts, hooves, paws, and even tails!  Fiona uses her face to make one-of-a-kind ‘Kiss Paintings’.”

Painting (with non-toxic paint) is an excellent form of enrichment for the animals. Animal care staff offers paints and a canvas to some of the animals, resulting in beautiful works of art.

Zoo opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. Members may enter at 9 a.m.
