Cincinnati Zoo Offers FREE Admission to Healthcare Workers April 7-10

CINCINNATI, OH (April 1, 2022) – To show appreciation for all that healthcare and public health workers have done for our community during the past two years, Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is offering them FREE admission starting on World Health Day, April 7, through April 10.  Friends and family visiting with healthcare personnel may purchase up to 6 additional tickets at half price.

“We brought a little bit of the Zoo to healthcare workers when we were closed during peak tulip bloom season in 2020,” said Cincinnati Zoo director Thane Maynard.  “This year we want them to see the blooms in person!”

The first day of Healthcare Workers Appreciation Days,  April 7, is also the date of the Zoo’s first Tunes and Blooms concert.  Visitors can stick around or come back to hear live music starting at 6pm.

“Our healthcare workers stepped up throughout the pandemic to keep our community safe in the midst of incredible challenges that put them in harm’s way.  Their work was courageous and life saving.  We are grateful for the sacrifices they made every day to ensure the best care to those with Covid 19 and their families,” said Hamilton County Commissioner Denise Driehaus.

“The past few years have been challenging, and nowhere have those challenges been greater felt than with the heroic work playing out on the front lines and behind the scenes in our healthcare community. Our healthcare community put everything else aside to come together for the good of our region.  And I believe, because of these people who put others’ health above their own, we’re coming out of this crisis stronger for it,” said Craig Brammer, President & CEO of The Health Collaborative.

The FREE admission offer is extended to the public health and front-line healthcare workers (doctors, nurses, care aids, and paramedics to name a few) who have been working so hard to keep our community healthy and safe. Professional credentials, along with a valid government-issued photo ID must be presented at the Cincinnati Zoo to take advantage of this offer, therefore tickets must be picked up at the Zoo.  For more information, please visit Healthcare Workers Appreciation Days.
