About the Race

Registration Details for the Cheetah Run 5k

Pre-registration is now closed. Runners and walkers can register at packet pick up on Saturday, August 29 at the Running Spot in O’Bryonville from 10am – 4pm OR beginning at 6:30am on Sunday, August 30 at the Zoo at the Serengeti Shelter in Safari Camp.

Late registration is $40 (performance t-shirt not included in late registration).  If there are any leftover, shirts will be sold for $10 at the event. 

Run for a purpose! The Cheetah Run proceeds benefit the Cincinnati Zoo, one of the oldest non profits in the city. Your support helps us continue providing world class care for the animals you love! 

  • Course that winds it’s way through and around the Zoo
  • Dri-fit shirts will be included in each runner’s pre-registration fee (race day registration does not include a shirt.)
  • Chip-timing at the start and finish line that will give real-time, accurate race results
  • Registration includes Zoo admission
  • Post race efreshments for runners
  • FREE Cub Run for children 12 and under.  No registration required.

Guests of all ages can join the fun during the 3.1 mile run and walk through the beautiful Cincinnati Zoo.  The course will feature the Zoo’s unique gardens and exotic animal exhibits, providing scenery unlike any other venue in town.


2015 Cheetah Run T-shirt

The 2015 Cheetah Run will feature a challenging course and a performance T-shirt to all pre-registered runners and chip-timing at the start and finish line that give real-time, accurate race results.  The race will start and finish in the Safari Camp Parking Lot.

After the race, children 12 and under can participate in a FREE Cheetah “Cub” Fun Run.  As a special prize all participants in the Cheetah Cub Fun Run will receive a ribbon when they cross the finish line.

What time does the event start?
The race begins at 8am.

When and where can I pick up my race number, shirt and timing chip?
You can pick up your race packet on Saturday, August 29 from 10am – 4:30pm at The Running Spot in O’Bryonville OR on Sunday, August 30 beginning at 6:30am at the Zoo.

Where should we park?
Runners and spectators should park in our main parking lot on Vine Street.

Can my family come watch me race?
Yes.  You may bring family members with you as long as they arrive with the runner before the race starts.

Can we stay after the race to enjoy the Zoo?
Yes, please stay and enjoy the Zoo with your family.

Is there a fee for the Cheetah Cub Fun Run?
No.  There is not a fee for the Cheetah Cub Fun Run.  Children 12 and under and welcome to participate in the fun run and will receive a ribbon for their participation.

Can I purchase a shirt the day of the race?
There will be a limited number of shirts available for purchase the day of the race.

Can I run/walk with a stroller?
Yes, strollers are permitted.  For your safety and the safety of others, we encourage participants with strollers to start near the back of the crowd of people running/walking.

Are pets, rollerblades, skateboards or bikes allowed at the race?
Pets are never allowed on Zoo grounds unless they are a service animal.  For the safety of all participants, the use of rollerblades, skateboards and bikes are not permitted.
