“Support from Hamilton County is crucial to the Zoo’s success, and we want to make sure that residents get to experience what their tax dollars support,” said Cincinnati Zoo director Thane Maynard. “Voters will have the chance to continue that support this November.”

It will be a steamy weekend, but there are plenty of places to cool off around the Zoo.  There are watering stations and fans throughout the Zoo and plenty of places to refill water bottles.  There are also indoor, air-conditioned habitats to explore.  Insect World, Night Hunters, Manatee Springs, the Reptile House, Birds of the World, and Discovery Forest will be open.  AND, baby sloth Juno is now visible in the Animal Ambassador Center!

The animals are keeping cool too!  They have access to indoor spaces and lots of water to drink and swim in.  Many have adaptations that keep them beat the heat (see 8/23 blog about these adaptations).

Tickets for Hamilton County Appreciation Days, brought to you by Hamilton County, can be purchased online in advance.  A valid Hamilton County photo ID will be checked upon entry.

The Zoo opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. Members get Early Entry and are welcome to enter the Zoo at 9 a.m.
