Cincinnati Zoo Offers Free Admission for First Responders and Military 9/11 – 9/13
CINCINNATI, OH (September 10, 2026) – Cincinnati Zoo is honoring those who protect our community by offering free admission to all active fire, police and safety personnel from September 11-13.
“First responders play an essential role in keeping our community safe, and we are proud to dedicate a day at the Zoo to recognizing their service and commitment,” said Dave Jenike, Director of the Cincinnati Zoo. “We look forward to welcoming these local heroes and their families for a day of appreciation and celebration.”
Personnel who qualify for free admission include firefighters, EMTs, uniformed police officers, state troopers, border patrol agents, investigators, evidence technicians, firearms examiners, crime lab technicians, 911 dispatchers, correction officers, handwriting examiners, intelligence analysts, investigative assistants and all members of the military (active and retired).
The offer also allows fire and police personnel to purchase admission tickets at 50% off for up to six family members.
A valid photo ID must be presented at the Cincinnati Zoo to take advantage of this offer. Fire and police badges and identification cards are accepted only if accompanied by photo ID. As all ID must reference specific fire or police duty, government-only IDs will not be accepted.
The Zoo opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. Members get Early Entry and are welcome to enter the Zoo at 9 a.m. Download the mobile app featuring a GPS-enabled digital map, food locations, and to receive special announcements. You can even create your own itinerary!
