Final 2025 Tunes & Blooms Concert and Earth Day Celebration this Thursday
Learn what you can do for the planet from experts at the Greenest Zoo in America
Celebrate Earth Day during the final Tunes & Blooms concert of the year on Thursday, April 24th at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden! The Earth Day Celebration will feature stations where visitors can interact with experts from the Zoo’s Horticulture, Sustainability, Conservation Impact, and Education teams and learn about ways the Zoo helps the planet and how they can too!
“Earth is definitely the coolest planet around!,” said Cincinnati Zoo’s director of community partnerships in conservation Mollie O’Neil. “On this one little planet, we have beautiful things like forests, oceans, deserts, and mountains. At the Zoo, and with our partners all over the Earth, we’re working on ways that people, animals, and plants can coexist in these natural spaces.”
O’Neil and other Zoo team members will be on hand during the Earth Day celebration to share some easy actions people can take right here in Cincinnati to help songbirds and pollinators.
“Birds are arriving in our yards and parks right now to raise their families,” said O’Neil.
“One of the most helpful things you can do is to turn your lights off or down at night. We’re excited to share more about this and our Plant for Pollinators program at the celebration.”
Other information stations and topics include:
- Using alternative containers for planting seeds at home
- Hydroponics 101
- Zero Waste
- Leave No Trace Bin activity to encourage recycling
Be sure to check out the beautifully-painted rain barrels displayed on Swan Lake bridge while you’re here. Bidding for the barrels ends on April 25 at 10 a.m. Proceeds support the Cincinnati Zoo and Save Local Waters conservation initiatives.
