“We made two big pregnancy announcements last week,” said Cincinnati Zoo director Thane Maynard. “Gladys, a beloved member of our family gorilla group, is expected to give birth in early fall, and our brand-new Asian small-clawed otters may deliver pups as soon as late May!!”
The babies that are already here include Kal the bat-eared fox, cheetah cubs Zola, Lulu, Kiara, manatees Orchid, Vora, Lilypad, Daisy the bonobo, lesser kudu Maple, red fox Scamper, Morty the hognose snake, Frunobulax the Komodo dragon, white-cheeked gibbon Kip, Mokonzi the okapi, Juno the sloth, famous hippo Fritz, Violet the porcupine, plus skunks, little penguins, reptiles, and insects!
Some of the babies are ambassador animals that are not visible on a set schedule but can often be seen in random encounters around the Zoo. Keep your eyes open for them and check the locations for other little ones here.
Make your visit even more memorable by participating in the Zoo Babies Expedition scavenger hunt. Created by General Electric Credit Union, this fun activity for kids and adults alike invites you to find special signs at four different Zoo Babies exhibits, discover the secret word, and be entered to win prizes.
The Zoo opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. daily. Members get Early Entry and are welcome to enter the Zoo at 9 a.m. Tomorrow is the last day of the Zoo’s Membership Sale, sponsored by Thomas & Galbraith. Join the Zoo at a discounted price and visit to watch the Zoo Babies grow all year long.
Download the new mobile app featuring a GPS-enabled digital map to find the babies and other favorite animals, plants, and food locations. Turn on notifications to get updates on animal chats and special offers.
