 Face coverings still required in all areas

 CINCINNATI (April 28, 2021) – Masks are still required at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden.

“We are aware that the CDC has updated their guidelines to allow fully vaccinated people to go without masks outside in certain situations,” said Cincinnati Zoo director Thane Maynard. “We are monitoring recommendations, but for now, masks are still required at the Zoo for anyone ages 6 and up.”

The Zoo implemented a reservation system to limit capacity when it reopened last June, after being closed for three months, and that system is still in place.  Plexiglass was added between seats on the train before the Zoo resumed rides later last summer.  Distance markers are being placed in the Cheetah Encounter area so it can reopen this weekend (all encounters were cancelled last year).

“Visitors have told me over and over again that they are grateful to be able to come to the Zoo and that they feel safe,” said Maynard. “We are eager to return to normal and are working closely with Hamilton County health officials and the City of Cincinnati to do so in the safest way possible.”

Zoo Babies, presented by Dawn, starts this Saturday, May 1!  Reservations and masks are required. The event is FREE with regular Zoo admission. The Zoo opens daily at 10 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m.  Cincinnati Zoo members enjoy early entry at 9 a.m.
