bloomsCINCINNATI – (March 21, 2014) The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is ready to blossom out of this cold weather and into spring with the colorful force of over 100,000 tulips! As one of only two accredited botanical gardens in Ohio, the Cincinnati Zoo offers one of the largest tulip displays in the Midwest. Zoo Blooms also features more than one million daffodils, hyacinths, flowering trees, shrubs and other spring bulbs.

To accompany the first blooms of the year, the Cincinnati Zoo will also feature FREE concerts every Thursday evening during Zoo Blooms from 6 – 8:30 p.m. Admission is free after 5 p.m. (Parking not included).  The Tunes & Blooms concert series is a compilation of Cincinnati’s finest and most-respected music veterans playing together in the Zoo’s beautiful gardens.  Why tip-toe through the tulips when you can rock the garden? Kicking off on April 3, performances will include Comet Bluegrass All-Stars and Bulletville, followed by Jake Speed & the Freddies and Shiny and the Spoon (April 10), The Cliftones (April 18) and finally Green Light Morning and DAAP Girls (April 25).

Come join the 7th Annual Tulip Luncheon on April 9 at 11 a.m. as it is entertained by celebrity guests Bob Goen and Marianne Curan of Warm98 Radio! Celebrate the Botanical Garden while enjoying guided tours of more than 100,000 blooming tulips followed by a catered lunch inside the Peacock Pavilion and a special presentation from the Zoo’s Director, Thane Maynard.
