CINCINNATI, OH (October 1, 2024) – Starting today, all visitors can enjoy The Harry and Linda Fath Elephant Trek at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden!

“We gave Zoo donors and members the first opportunity to visit Elephant Trek as a thank you for their support, and we’re excited for all visitors to be able to see it,” said Cincinnati Zoo director Thane Maynard.  “It really is spectacular.  The elephant herd is settling in and can be seen outside in two of the three outdoor yards and in the large community space in the indoor Elephant Center.”

Take your time getting down to the main elephant viewing area.  The gardens, water features, and educational materials are well worth taking in as you navigate the path to the main attraction…ASIAN ELEPHANTS!  You may see the whole elephant herd or different combinations of the eight elephants in areas of their fabulous new home.

There are also features under, above, and behind Elephant Trek that you can’t see but can appreciate.  The 1-million-gallon capacity stormwater tanks buried under the habitat collect rainwater that is then pumped up to a filtration room and cleaned twice before being used in the 200,000-gallon elephant pool and other places. The solar array on top of the Elephant Center provides power for the pumps!

Elephant Trek is open during regular Zoo hours. There is no extra fee to enter, and members can visit as often as they like. The Zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Members enjoy early entry starting at 9 a.m.

DID YOU KNOW…. You pay more than $10 less per ticket, on select days, when you purchase tickets online! That’s a $40 savings for a family of 4!
