What can you do for Mexican Wolves?

Answer the Call

As a wolf, you have the power rally your pack! Recruit a friend or family member to support wildlife conservation with you. Whether it’s a local cleanup day, or recycling event, or gardening program in your community, get on your paws for a good cause!

What does the Cincinnati Zoo do for Mexican Wolves?

The Cincinnati Zoo cares for our own pack of Mexican wolves. Bruce, Shadow, and Waya are ambassadors for their species, while the Zoo works hard to reintroduce Mexican wolves and other wolf species back to their native habitats. For example, Kim Scott, our Curator of Mammals, works with the USFWS and the Species Survival Plan to reintroduce Red Wolves back into their native habitat!

Did you know?
  • A wolf’s howl can be heard up to 5 miles away.

  • The family dog is a relative of the wolf, descended from wolves that were domesticated over the course of thousands of years.

  •  The Mexican wolf is the smallest kind of wolf.
