A September to Remember at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden
Discounts, special events, a big anniversary, and more!
CINCINNATI, OH (September 8, 2025) – There are at least 150 reasons to visit Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden this September! From special discounts, including $10 admission for seniors 62+ on weekdays throughout the month, to last chances to see Wings of Wonder and rehabbed manatees Vola, Lilypad, and Orchid, and a 150th anniversary celebration, one visit will not be enough.
“We’ve been celebrating our 150th anniversary all year, but September 18 is the actual date that we opened in 1875 and we will mark that occasion at the Zoo and on social media,” said Cincinnati Zoo director Thane Maynard. “We’re offering $15 admission and rides/giraffe feeding opportunities for just $1.50.”
First responders are also in for a treat in September. The Zoo offers free admission annually during First Responders Days*. This year’s dates are September 12-14.
On September 20, the Cincinnati Zoo will highlight two endangered species — red pandas and gorillas. Guests are invited to hear from red panda keepers at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., where they will share insights about the Zoo’s red pandas and their care. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., visitors can stop by Gorilla World to learn more about gorillas, observe enrichment activities, and enter to win a unique opportunity to participate in a VIP experience with the gorillas and their care team. Guests are encouraged to bring e-gadgets to recycle to help save gorillas and their wild habitats.
The Zoo opens at 10 a.m. daily, 9 a.m. for members. Check out all the Zoo’s events this fall. Download the mobile app featuring a GPS-enabled digital map to find your favorite animals, food locations, and to receive special announcements.
