CINCINNATI (January 12, 2023) –  Wildly popular Penguin Parades start tomorrow at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden!  The highlight of Penguin Days, presented by U.S. Bank, features king penguins marching two times daily on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holiday Mondays (including this Monday, January 16).

“The Zoo is still a wonderful place to visit during the colder months, and the deeply discounted admission that we offer during Penguin Days makes it a very affordable outing,” said Cincinnati Zoo director Thane Maynard.  “Dress for the weather, and you’ll be as happy as the penguins that you’ll see on parade days.”

The morning parade starts at the Zoo’s Bird House at 11a.m. and ends at the king penguins’ outdoor home away from home at the Children’s Zoo entrance, where they stay until it’s time to march back to the Bird House at 2:30p.m.

In addition to Penguin Parades, visitors will be able to enter and interact with keas in the Zoo’s Free Flight Aviary, from 1:30p.m. – 2:30p.m. on parade days.  Enjoy additional animal encounters on Saturdays & Sundays.

It must be below 50 degrees for the king penguins to go outside, so penguin chats will be offered instead of parades on warmer days. Penguin encounters will take place on each non-holiday Monday at 11 a.m.

Guests can warm up indoors while learning about insects, bonobos, manatees, nocturnal animals, monitors of all sizes, and reptiles. Gorillas will be visible in their indoor gorilla habitat!

Waddle to the Zoo and save money during Penguin Days! Enjoy discounted admissionfrom January 9 – March 10, 2023.  The Cincinnati Zoo opens daily at 10 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.cincinnatizoo.org.
