“Spring is a great time to visit the Zoo,” said Cincinnati Zoo director Thane Maynard.  “The giraffes, hippos, lions, kangaroos, rhino, gorillas, bonobos and other fair-weathered friends become more active, and the botanical garden comes to life.  It’s also the time of year when our popular Barrows Conservation Lecture Series starts, and I’m really looking forward to the first one next week.

Starting this Saturday, March 9, visitors can ride the all-electric Safari Train, sponsored by Huntington Bank, and the all new carousel, sponsored by Furniture Fair.  There are also new menus to enjoy in the Base Camp Café and at Hops.

Visitors can walk with kangaroos and see North America’s largest colony of little blue penguins in their habitat in Roo Valley. Check the animal encounters schedule before you visit so you can make the most of your visit.  Use the mobile map app to find your favorite animals, food locations, and special announcements.

The Zoo opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. Starting March 9, members get Early Entry and are welcome to enter the Zoo at 9 a.m.  Memberships are on sale, and now is the best time to join the Zoo familyCincinnati Zoo’s membership program is generously supported by Frisch’s Big Boy.
