Enjoy FREE admission for military on Memorial Day
CINCINNATI, OH – (May 25, 2018) Spend a memorable Memorial Day weekend at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden! Summer Adventure at the Cincinnati Zoo, presented by Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Honda Dealers, kicks off on Saturday, May 26, with the return of summer encounters, and extended hours! All members of the military — active and retired — will receive FREE admission to the Zoo on Monday, May 28.*
The spectacular Ameritas Wings of Wonder Bird Encounter is back with performances at 1pm and 3pm, Wednesdays – Sundays, and cheetahs will reach top speeds during the Kroger Cheetah Encounter in the Cathryn Hilker Running Yard twice daily (excluding Wednesdays & Thursdays). Enjoy a new shaded view of the Chick-fil-A Blakeley’s Barnyard Bonanza! Visitors will notice some new faces on the African Savannah. Walter the warthog and Icki the saddle-bill stork have joined the mixed species group at the Zoo this summer. Hear keepers talk about their favorite subject – the animals they care for – in chats scheduled throughout the day, and feed a giraffe! Check out the chats and encounters schedule.
“Now that the weather is warm, Fiona is out every day,” said Zoo Director Thane Maynard. “A lot of people come just to visit her, but there is so much more to see and do here!”
Zoo Babies continues through this weekend, so look for giant storks throughout the Zoo. Four little manatees, a colobus monkey, Kendi the black rhino, Winsol the aardvark and Elle the gorilla are among the must-see babies. Bring your dad on Father’s Day, when dad’s get free admission!
Zoo summer hours are 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. from May 26 – Labor Day. Early entry for members and Zoo Adventure Ticket (ZAT) holders begins at 9am. For more information visit www.cincinnatizoo.org.
